Living in Laval
Laval places great importance on protecting and enhancing the local environment. Non-agricultural green space takes up no less than 10% of its territory while the City’s urban plan provides for waterfront development, conservation of wooded areas and protection of the island’s impressive ecological heritage. Considered an invaluable asset, the permanent agricultural zone occupies 29.1% of the territory and blends perfectly with the surrounding urban environment.
Laval’s parks, bicycle paths, golf courses, cross-country trails, walking trails, rivers and islands are all factors that contribute to its residents’ quality of life.
