The AGROPOLE is comprised of 300 leading firms employing 4,500 people. Its two principal sectors are agricultural production and food processing.

Among the companies that make up the AGROPOLE are 150 farm producers, of which 133 are horticulturists, clearly establishng Laval as the horticultural capital of Quebec. Agricultural products from the region are sold throughout the province as well as in Ontario and the U.S. In addition, 17 Laval producers are involved in field crop production, dairy production, beekeeping, and other such activities.
